Yes David – the milkman is standing outside 80 Wolseley Street in Coley and the photo was taken in 1945. Mrs Rushton was living there at the time. The man sitting outside 84 is Mr Bryant. I’m guessing the two boys are his grandchildren. The original photo now belongs to the Imperial War Museum (IWM) but you can better view it along with several other great photos from that era on the Reading Forum website at www.reading-forum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7452.
I purchased a high resolution copy on CD of that photo from the IWM and had it printed and framed professionally and it is hanging on the wall in my study – looks fantastic!
